Nonprofit Narrative Podcast: Strategic Planning, Creativity, and Community
Welcome to the Nonprofit Narrative Podcast! This launch begins a journey of empowering nonprofits and businesses to overcome challenges through creative storytelling and effective systems.
📅 January Highlights: Strategic Planning and Reflection
In the first episode of 2025, I share insights into strategic planning for the year—a vital process that balances reflection and preparation. We discussed how to:
Reflect on last year’s successes and lessons.
Use tools like planners and journals to set measurable, actionable goals.
Prioritize what matters most, both professionally and personally.
One key takeaway? The importance of slowing down to look back before moving forward.
🎬 Creative Projects and Wins
2023 was filled with creative endeavors. I worked with Lone Hill Middle School students on short films, teaching them storytelling, camera techniques, and sound design. Together, we produced:
The Great Elven Wrap-Up (a parody of The Great British Bake Off),
The Workshop (an Office-inspired Santa’s workshop comedy), and
Snow Hard (a Die Hard parody).
These experiences reminded me of the joy of seeing creativity spark in others—especially the next generation of storytellers.
🚀 Solving Problems with Portnoy Media
I also introduced Portnoy Media’s One-Day Intensive, a program designed to tackle a specific business or nonprofit challenge in just six hours. The goal? To deliver a clear roadmap for moving forward. It’s ideal for anyone feeling stuck and ready for action.
Our video pitch deck is live on the Portnoy Media website. It showcases how video storytelling can amplify your brand or mission.
